Healthcare & Pharma Recruitment

Hiring for pharmaceutical manufacturers, formulation and API units, CROs, diagnostics chains and hospitals across India and the UAE, clinical, regulatory, quality and commercial roles.

Overview

Does Mars Consultancy recruit for Healthcare & Pharma?

Mars Consultancy recruits for pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, diagnostics chains and life-sciences employers across India and the UAE. We hire quality assurance and quality control, production, regulatory affairs, formulation R&D, pharmacovigilance and clinical research roles, alongside hospital operations, nursing and allied-health positions and the entire field force from Medical Representative up to Regional Sales Manager.

Healthcare and pharma is the sector where a job title tells you the least. Two QA Officers can have completely different value depending on whether their plant is USFDA-inspected, WHO-GMP certified or supplying only the domestic market, and whether they have actually faced an auditor or only maintained the documentation. The same is true of dosage form: oral solids, injectables, ophthalmics and API each demand different exposure, and a candidate who has only run tablets will not walk into a sterile injectable block. We screen on plant, dosage form, market and audit exposure before a CV reaches your panel.

Much of our pharma hiring has been in Mumbai and the MMR belt, which hold one of India's densest concentrations of pharma employers: corporate and regulatory offices in Andheri and the western suburbs, manufacturing across Thane, Ambernath, Taloja and Tarapur, and the newer capacity spreading up towards Palghar and Boisar. In a market that dense, candidates are visible to everyone, so the differentiator is not who has the biggest database but who confirms qualification, exposure and genuine willingness to travel to a plant location before an interview slot is spent.

The hard part

What makes healthcare & pharma hiring difficult?

Regulated roles have a qualification floor that cannot be negotiated

Quality, production, regulatory affairs and R&D roles carry hard educational requirements, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, M.Sc in the relevant stream, sometimes a specific specialisation. A strong candidate without the qualification on paper cannot be approved by a plant that is audit-accountable for its personnel records. We verify degree, stream and institution up front rather than letting it surface during BGV.

Audit readiness means a plant can neither hire slowly nor hire badly

When a USFDA inspection, a WHO-GMP renewal or a Schedule M readiness review is on the calendar, an open QA or QC position is a live risk, but a weak hire in a documentation or release role is a bigger one. These briefs need a shortlist fast and screened properly at the same time. We narrow on plant type, dosage form and prior audit exposure so the panel sees fewer, more relevant people.

Therapy area and dosage form do not transfer as freely as CVs imply

A formulation scientist who has developed oral solids is not interchangeable with one who has worked on injectables or transdermals, and a Medical Representative selling cardio-diabetic products has a different call pattern and prescriber base from one in dermatology or critical care. We screen on therapy area, dosage form and prescriber segment, because that is where interviews usually fail.

Field force attrition is structural, not occasional

Medical Representative and Area Business Manager roles churn continuously, and the same candidate typically sits in three pipelines at once. Filling a territory once is easy; keeping it filled is the actual brief. We run field force hiring as a rolling pipeline with follow-up through the notice period, since the loss in this sector happens between offer and joining.

Hospitals hire against shifts and rosters, not just headcount

Nursing, technician and hospital operations roles come with night shifts, rotational rosters and on-call expectations that decide whether a candidate stays past month three. Accreditation requirements under NABH and NABL also fix minimum staffing and qualification norms. We confirm shift willingness, commute distance and registration status at screening rather than after joining.

Use cases

What does a healthcare & pharma brief usually look like?

Common shapes of requirement in this sector, and how each one is run. These are illustrative patterns rather than accounts of specific engagements.

A formulation plant staffing up ahead of a regulatory audit

Leadership Hiring
The brief
QA and QC officers plus a validation executive at a Thane belt site, all needing the right degree on paper and prior exposure to the relevant dosage form and documentation practice.
How we run it
Mapped candidates from comparable plants in the same corridor, confirmed qualification, dosage form and audit exposure before shortlisting, and staggered interviews so the quality head was not pulled off the floor for a week of panels.

A pharma company relaunching a division's field force

Volume Hiring
The brief
Medical Representatives across several territories to a launch date, with Area Business Managers in place before the team joins.
How we run it
Ran the MR layer as a volume drive measured on joining rather than CV count, screened on therapy area and prescriber segment, and handled the ABM appointments separately as individual mandates.

A multi-speciality hospital opening a new wing

Volume Hiring
The brief
Nursing, technician and front-office staff across rotational shifts, plus an operations manager to hold the unit together, all before the commissioning date.
How we run it
Sourced within realistic commuting distance of the site, confirmed registration status and shift willingness at screening, and coordinated batched interview days around the clinical team's availability.

A pharma group appointing a head of regulatory affairs

Executive Search
The brief
A senior regulated appointment where the market exposure is specific, the pool is small and the search cannot be visible while the incumbent is in seat.
How we run it
Handled as a mapped, confidential search, candidates identified and approached directly, market and filing exposure established up front, and a deliberately short shortlist rather than an advertised process.

Track record

Where has Mars hired for healthcare & pharma roles?

Across India and in the UAE. Our longest record is in the Mumbai region, and these are the belts where we have hired most for this sector. For most roles below management there, travel time decides whether an offer is accepted, so we screen for it.

FAQs

Healthcare & Pharma hiring, answered

Ask a question
Do you recruit for pharmaceutical companies and hospitals?

Yes. Mars Consultancy hires across pharmaceutical manufacturing, formulation and API units, CROs, diagnostics chains, medical devices and hospitals across India and the UAE, covering QA and QC, production, regulatory affairs, R&D, pharmacovigilance, field sales, and hospital operations, nursing and allied-health roles.

Which pharma roles do you hire for most often?

QA and QC officers, production chemists, validation executives, Regulatory Affairs Executives and Managers, Formulation R&D Scientists, Pharmacovigilance Associates and Clinical Research Associates on the technical side, and Medical Representatives, Area Business Managers and Product Managers on the commercial side.

Do you screen for GMP and audit exposure?

Yes. For plant roles we confirm the type of site a candidate has worked in, USFDA-inspected, WHO-GMP certified or domestic-market, the dosage forms they have handled, and whether they have actually faced an audit rather than only maintained documentation. Qualification, stream and institution are verified before shortlisting, not at BGV.

Can you handle large field force hiring for a pharma division?

Yes. Medical Representative and Area Business Manager hiring is run as volume hiring, a rolling pipeline measured on joining rather than CV count, with screening on therapy area and prescriber segment held steady as the numbers climb.

Do you hire nursing and allied-health staff for hospitals?

Yes. We hire Nursing Superintendents, staff and ICU nurses, lab and radiology technicians, Biomedical Engineers, Medical Coders, billing and TPA executives and Hospital Operations Managers. Registration status, shift willingness and realistic commuting distance are confirmed at screening, because those are what decide retention.

How long does a pharma or healthcare role take to fill?

Typically 7–30 days from requirement briefing to a suitable candidate closing. Field sales and hospital support roles usually close at the faster end; regulatory affairs, sterile production and specialised R&D roles take longer because the qualification floor and the dosage-form or market exposure narrow the pool sharply.

Do you hire for plant locations away from the city?

Yes. We have hired for manufacturing sites across the Thane, Ambernath, Taloja, Tarapur, Boisar and Palghar belt, and we confirm relocation or commute willingness at screening, for plant locations that is more often the blocker than the technical fit.
