BPO & Customer Experience Recruitment

Voice, non-voice and blended hiring at volume across India and the UAE, built around ramp deadlines, show-up rates and the attrition you are actually hiring against.

Overview

Does Mars Consultancy recruit for BPO?

Mars Consultancy runs BPO and customer experience hiring across India and the UAE, and has done since 2015. We staff voice, non-voice, chat and blended processes, inbound customer service, outbound sales and collections, back-office transaction processing, quality, training and floor leadership, from single-batch replacements to drives that fill an entire new floor.

This is the sector where volume hiring is the whole job. A contact centre is not hiring to fill a vacancy, it is hiring against a monthly attrition number and a client go-live date at the same time. If a process runs at 4–6% monthly attrition, a 300-seat floor loses somewhere between twelve and eighteen people a month before a single new requirement is raised. The hiring plan has to cover backfill and ramp together, every month, or the floor is short on the day the client audits it.

The metric that decides whether a drive worked is not CVs sourced. It is joiners on the batch date. Between a shortlisted candidate and a joiner sit four separate drop-offs, turning up for the drive, clearing versant and comms grading, accepting the offer once the shift and the CTC are on the table, and actually reporting on day one after two competing offers arrive. We run drives with backup ratios and follow-up built in for exactly that reason, because a 200-seat drive almost never fails on sourcing. It fails on throughput and follow-up.

The hard part

What makes bpo hiring difficult?

Attrition means the hiring plan never stops

A contact centre floor at 4–6% monthly attrition loses a meaningful share of headcount every month before any new requirement exists, so hiring is a standing pipeline rather than a set of vacancies. We plan BPO drives against backfill and ramp together, keeping a live candidate pool warm between batches so a resignation wave does not restart sourcing from zero.

Show-up rate, not offer rate, is the number that matters

In volume BPO hiring, candidates drop at four points: attending the drive, clearing comms grading, accepting once shift and CTC are stated, and reporting on day one. Counting offers released tells you nothing. We size drives on backup ratios against the batch target, confirm attendance the day before, and stay in contact from offer through to the joining date.

Voice, non-voice and blended are three different screens

An international voice process needs neutral accent, versant-grade fluency and comfort on a live call. Non-voice needs typing speed, written English and accuracy on a transaction. Blended chat needs both, concurrently. Screening all three off one CV filter produces batches that fail at nesting. We grade on the process type before the profile reaches your ops team.

Shift, transport boundary and commute decide half the drops

Rotational and night shifts come with a cab boundary, and a candidate living outside it will accept the offer and then not join. For the Navi Mumbai and Malad centres we have hired for, the practical catchment is set by transport routes and last-mile safety, not by distance on a map. We confirm shift willingness, home location against the boundary and family consent up front rather than at joining.

Ramp deadlines are set by the client, not by the recruiter

A new process go-live fixes the batch date months ahead, and training capacity fixes the batch size. Hiring late is not recoverable by hiring harder the following week, the trainer, the floor and the client SLA all move together. We work backwards from the batch date to drive dates, offer-release dates and the buffer the batch needs to survive nesting drop-outs.

Use cases

What does a bpo brief usually look like?

Common shapes of requirement in this sector, and how each one is run. These are illustrative patterns rather than accounts of specific engagements.

A contact centre ramping a new voice process to a go-live date

Volume Hiring
The brief
A large batch of voice associates to be trained and on the floor by a fixed client go-live, with the batch size capped by training capacity and the drive window fixed by the trainer's calendar.
How we run it
Worked backwards from the batch date to drive dates and offer-release dates, sized the pipeline on a backup ratio rather than the seat count, ran walk-in drives with attendance confirmed the previous day, and kept follow-up running through to the joining date.

A blended chat and email process replacing standing monthly attrition

Volume Hiring
The brief
Continuous backfill for a non-voice floor, where typing speed and written English matter more than accent, and the requirement recurs every month rather than arriving as a one-off.
How we run it
Held a warm candidate pool between batches instead of restarting sourcing each cycle, screened on written English and accuracy for the process type, and staggered joiners so training absorbed them without a queue.

A BPO adding team leaders and quality analysts as the floor grows

Leadership Hiring
The brief
Floor leadership and quality roles where span of control, the process type someone has actually run and their experience of a client audit decide the hire, not the designation.
How we run it
Screened on process type, team size handled and audit exposure rather than the title on the last CV, and managed scheduling tightly because good ops leads leave a process that stalls between rounds.

A captive centre appointing an operations head for a new site

Executive Search
The brief
A senior site appointment carrying SLA ownership, client relationship and a multi-hundred-seat floor, where the search should not be visible to the incumbent team.
How we run it
Handled as a mapped, confidential search, candidates identified and approached directly rather than advertised, with a deliberately short shortlist.

Track record

Where has Mars hired for bpo roles?

Across India and in the UAE. Our longest record is in the Mumbai region, and these are the belts where we have hired most for this sector. For most roles below management there, travel time decides whether an offer is accepted, so we screen for it.

FAQs

BPO hiring, answered

Ask a question
Do you handle volume hiring for BPO and contact centres?

Yes, volume hiring is our main BPO engagement. We run fresher walk-in drives, ramp batches tied to a client go-live and standing monthly attrition backfill across Vashi, Turbhe, Ghansoli, Malad, Andheri and Thane, sized on backup ratios and measured on joiners on the batch date rather than CVs sourced.

How quickly can you staff a new BPO batch?

Typically 7–30 days from requirement briefing to closures, with volume voice and non-voice batches usually at the faster end. What decides the timeline is the batch date and training capacity. We work backwards from your go-live to drive dates and offer-release dates so the batch is full when nesting starts.

Do you screen for voice, non-voice and blended processes differently?

Yes. Voice roles are screened on fluency, neutral accent and comfort on a live call. Non-voice is screened on written English, typing speed and transaction accuracy. Blended chat needs both at once. Grading on the process type before profiles reach your ops team is what stops batches failing at nesting.

How do you deal with candidates who accept an offer and never join?

By treating the joining date as the finish line, not the offer. Shift willingness, home location against the transport boundary and CTC expectations are confirmed before the offer, drives are sized with backup candidates, attendance is reconfirmed the day before, and we stay in contact through to day one when competing offers usually arrive.

Can you hire for night shifts and rotational shifts?

Yes. International and rotational shift roles are screened for shift willingness, cab-boundary eligibility from the candidate's home location and family consent up front, the three things that most often turn a signed offer into a no-show on the joining date.

Do you hire freshers for BPO roles?

Yes. Fresher hiring is a large part of contact centre volume, and we run it through walk-in drives with comms grading on the day. Candidates are never charged a fee, Mars Consultancy is paid by the companies that hire.

Which BPO locations do you cover?

We have hired for BPO clients across India and in the UAE. In Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai that has included the Vashi, Turbhe, Ghansoli and Mahape belt, Malad Mindspace, Andheri and the Thane catchment. Ramps elsewhere in India and in the UAE run from the same desks.
